Hyrox has exploded for a reason: it's the purest test of the hybrid athlete — eight 1km runs alternating with eight functional stations (ski erg, sled push and pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, lunges, wall balls). What you wear matters more than you'd think. Here's a clean, no-nonsense guide.
The demands
You're running, then grinding, then running again — for an hour or more. Kit has to breathe, not chafe, move freely, and stay put through sleds, carries and wall balls. Anything that rides up, holds sweat or rubs will cost you.
The top
Go light and breathable. A fitted-but-not-tight tee or tank in a soft, sweat-friendly fabric is ideal — enough coverage for the carries, enough airflow for the runs. Our tops are cut for exactly this.
The shorts
Most Hyrox athletes race in shorts for airflow and range on the lunges and burpees. Look for a comfortable, non-restrictive pair that won't ride up during sled work.
Before and after
You'll be standing around in a cold venue before your heat and cooling down after. A hoodie or sweatshirt to warm up and recover in is the unglamorous essential. Browse layers.
Keep it simple
Don't overthink it: breathable top, comfortable shorts, a layer for before and after, and grippy trainers (the one thing we don't make — yet). Nordstoke makes the rest — design-led apparel for hybrid athletes and the Hyrox crowd. Shop the range.
Lift heavy. Run far.
